I got a Medion (TCM) PPC250 for xmas, it came with the navigation equipment etc, the program now comes up with that it is out of date. I have been on Medions website to find out if I can get updates to the navigation softwate, I think it is version 3. Medions site is not helpful neither were they when I emailed them.
What I want to know is can I install other Navigation software on the PPC such as TomTom or any other, how do I know it is compatiable with the hardware etc?
Any help appreciated. |

I have the same problem too! having bought the device in August last year. Is there an update available? How simple is it to put tomtom on the medion? anything we should look out for?
Thanks in advance |

Very easy to install tomtom on the medion - just follow the simple instructions. |

Sparke1e; thanks for your info, however I must say not very supportive. I have the tomtom software but not the instructions. Where do I ge these? In which directory do I upload the software? Are there any drivers that I need?

You dont need any special drivers, just put your pda into the cradle & link to pc using active sync. Then just run your tomtom cd, install it to the default folders on pda & follow any on-screen instructions. The map itself will be installed on your memory card - it's @ 100mb. |

Be wary of installing TTN4 or TTN5 onto the PPC250 with the RealTek RGM2000 GPS receiver as it appears the GPS receiver is not now compatible with TTN4 and TTN5. It would appear Tom Tom have removed compatibility.

I've just (this weekend) installed TTN5 on my medion and it works ok for me anyway, with the rgm 2000. Maybe Tomtom dont list it as being compatible as the ppc250 is not a current model? |

Finally got TTN5 working on the PPC250 but had to set the GPS receiver to Other NMEA, S2410 COM1, Baud rate of 4800.
Only problem is the GPS strength indicator does not work although the software is fine and have been using it to navigate for a couple of days. |
