I have two cars at the moment one with satnav and one without. I'm about to go without the satnav model for some time to save the milage and want to equipe the other one with an alternative solution.
I already have a Dell X5 PDA so dont want to buy a ground up system. I know that basically I need the following.
PDA (got that)
GPS receiver. (understand that there are bluetooth and compact flash versions.
Mounting bracket.
Software.
So my question is. Is this list complete, and what would people recommend as a soluiton, bearing in mind that I dont want to spend a fortune on it.
Thanks |

One thing missing from your list is a car power supply (cigarette lighter type).
Depending on your car's windshield you may also need an external antenna for the CF. That's why it would be preferable to use Bluetooth.
As for software - let us know where you live and what your driving preferences are. _________________ Lutz

I live in Derbyshire, but work in Portsmouth/London so do quite a bit of mileage, if that's what you mean about driving prefference.
Also I'm looking for speed camera software that will sit on top of the basic sat nave software application. |
