Hi guys
Well I have a Compaq iPAQ 3630 and a Haicom HI-203E GPS Receiver and I can't get them to work!
I've tried TomTom software and StreetMaps but neither register the receiver.
TomTom is v1.51 but with the older GPS software. If I upgrade the GPS software to v2 the Navigator software won't run (or it runs VERY slowly). I'm also not 100% sure which receiver I should be selecting, but I also tried the NMEA receivers and no good there either. On Haicom receiver, I can only choose Serial on USB and be able to tick the box.
I have maps on a PC Card in a jacket.
I'm stumped. I don't know a lot about GPS and can't think of what to try.
Any help please?
Thanks

Update:
I have also now tried the GPS Information test program in the Haicom download section. It says COM is off apart from on COM3. Even then, I never get any information and it says No Fix.
I even went for a long drive, put the receiver out the sun-roof in case the windscreen was stopping a signal.
The light in the receiver stopped flashing (is that good?) but still nothing on the iPAQ.

Terry, I haven't used the Haicom, but if you're using the diagnostic software that came with the receiver and this isn't working then I would suggest a problem.
I'm not familiar with the Haicom 203E only the 302. Does the 203E require you to install a driver to the Pocket PC to get it to work ? If so, have you done this ? |

I am using the 203 with an IPAQ 3870 with no problems. The com should be COM1 as this is the one at the base of the iPAQ and on the later versions of TOMTOM GPS you should see a string of dots leaveing the dish icon as it recieve it's signal on the Status screen.
The red led stops flashing when it gets a lock.
