Making A Free "Traffic" addon...

I've just found this site:

Basicly its offering an open source utility that tracks the location of your phone. Its free.

I know there was a developer kit for TomTom on the Pocket PC,

If theres anything like that for the SmartPhone version, i bet using this CellTrack, and a Database of accidents that users txt new info to, We could make a free traffic report add-on.

im currently sitting my exams at uni, but after that, im going to give this ago,

I've already made a wap site before that users can upload to, and download from. It wouldnt take much to make it read from a database of accidents. the problem would just be getting tomtom to work with the info recived via wap, and make it reroute or somthing.

Any one got any ideas or comments about this? I'd like to know if somthings already been started like this, or anything.
