I'm currently trialing Mapopolis on my Mio 168, the only issue I have with it is that the voice isn't very clear.
Has anyone tried the beta version available from the Mapopolis site that contains 'real' voices? If so how did you get on with it and which files can be safely deleted if you only want the English (UK) voices?
Many thanks. |

I'm running Mapoplis as my main program, however in the meantime I even find it fun to listen to the TTS attempts.
The custom voices are stored in the MapopolisWord.mvf files - you can remove the ones you don't need. Somewhere I had an instruction set how to compile your own version - if I could just find it.... GPSPassion should have some more information.
How do you like 4.50.47? _________________ Lutz

I haven't tried the new version yet, will install and let you know. However, the latest version I could find is 4.50.28, is 4.50.47 available from their site?
I'm conisdering buying the US maps for my forthcoming trip, I think if the voices on the beta version are clearer then it'll do me fine (although I have to admit I will miss the 3D view of TomTom!!).
Thanks,
Paul. |
