It says "Model - MEDION MD40600" on the page - so I presume it is an MD40600. Is there anything you're particularly worried about this offer including or not including?

Thanks David
Yes I was hoping that PC world had got it wrong about no voice on this model? and had the same spec as the Aldi offer.
Cheers |

Take a look here http://www.medion.co.uk
if you go to service and support then product drivers & updates and put in MD40600 in the MD/LT number box you can download the user manual, page 29 says something about if you do not understand the voice instructions.
Sounds like it might be worth a trip to PC World to find out more.
Good luck.

I have a 40600, bought one year ago from Aldi. The supplied (from Aldi) Medion / Navtech Navigator software does have voice. It also has "Favourite destination function". in that you can store personal destinations.
Be aware though this model is now is now over one year old, styli are very difficult to get hold of, I can only find one supplier and they are in Holland but apparantly won't ship to the UK. Medion UK don't even list them. Pluses it has a user changable battery and an SDIO slot. |

Also Bear in mind the description is Refurbished and Repacked!
So you will get a unit someone has played with and been returned (PCWorld refurbishment is often nothing more than a wife with a greasy rag!)

For £249 you can also consider the current Lidl Special offer this week,
http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/index.nsf/pages/c.o.oow.20041209.p.My_Guide_Navigator_6500XL
Mitac Type unit with built in Antenna, but faster 400Mhz CPU and 32Mb Flash Rom for storing the SatNav Programme,
Error in description it only has a 256mb card not 512, but Lidl Customer Services are refunding £30 on purchase price to people who phone and complain about the missing 512mb card, so the full package comes in at under £220!

Yep,
I picked up a couple yesterday,
They are nice units, The Falk Software is OK, but I took it off and put TT3 on,
They are upgraded Mitac Mios, with a 400Muhz CPU and 64Mb Ram, + 32Mb Rom and a 32Mb Flash Memory Drive,
The Kit also comes with an external antenna for use in cars with Restrictive windscreens, a carry case, Bike and car mounts, CDs etc, 256Mb card,
All in all a really nice package for the money, and as with the ALdi package there is a no quibble warranty so if you don't like it just take it back for a refund,
End of advert
But seriously its a nice unit, and well worth the money

Hi Mike
Not sure how far north the offer goes, (I saw them in Sheffield)
Lidl have a helpline on 0870 444 1234 (Option 4 to speak to a person),
They may be able to tell you if they have them in your area
Good Luck
