help me. Haicom HI-203E not working with xda2

i am having trouble getting my xda2 to link with my gps receiver.

i have set it up to NMEA 0183v2 4800 and i am not sure which port to choose from the list. it will not let me use (serial cable on COM1) a message saying "canot open COM1: port does not exist"
I am using Tom Tom 3
Do i need to install anything from the disk which came with the gps receiver?

Please please help someone!!!!!!

i don't know if you have managed to sort this problem out yet. I found your post while truing to find a fix for the same problem i had with mi XDA2i. I happened upon a fix at XDA developers.com. you need to go into settings/connections/beam & uncheck the box. this frees up com port 1 so you can then select it in tom tom gps settings. :D :D :D

This tip applies equally to XDA (episode I) I had problems getting my venerable XDA to connect. Saw this tip and, bingo, off we jolly well go. Thanks to the person who posted response to original problem. :D
