Is there any way to create POI's directly from adresses in Europa.
With other words: Can I get koordinates (internet service, cut/paste e.g) for a long list of adresses (500 pcs) to use for a new POI-kategory.
Of course I can create this inside TomTom itself... but what a boring and long job to do... _________________ Gunnar Nystul, Forum Admin, TomTom Forum Norway and Nystul Navigasjon |

If you have the addresses in a format suitable for importing into AutoRoute, ie a comma separated value file or Excel spreadsheet, then give that a try. Once you have created an AutoRoute map with pushpins at the address locations then I can tell you how to get Latitude and Longitude values out of the map file. _________________ Various TomToms, Garmin eTrex Legend, GPSMAP 60CSx, Oregon 550t, Forerunner 405 |

Sorry for late reply...
This raise some more questions:
In what order must road / zip / city etc be placed in the comma separated value file or Excel spreadsheet?
BTW: I do only have an realy old version of AutoRoute on a CD some place... _________________ Gunnar Nystul, Forum Admin, TomTom Forum Norway and Nystul Navigasjon |

The order of the fields does not matter as you can select the appropriate data type when you import the CSV file. However, once you have seen the acceptable field names it is best to add them in the first record of the CSV file as it will speed up the importing of data, ie you will not have to use the dropdown lists. I still have, and use, AutoRoute 2001. Is your version older than that?

Pity that it is so old. I think that the map file format is different to that of the AXE file that AutoRoute 2001 - 2005 uses so I would not be able to help you extract the Lat/Long coordinates _________________ Various TomToms, Garmin eTrex Legend, GPSMAP 60CSx, Oregon 550t, Forerunner 405 |

I took a closer look at some CD's that came with an LapTop her at work, and guess what; I gor the 2002 version.
I have installed it and it's work great, but...:
...when I do some testing it seems like I cant make use of the streetname in adresses, only the city-names...
Maybee I have overlooked something here but I cant find streetname option when trying to create an ruote as well... _________________ Gunnar Nystul, Forum Admin, TomTom Forum Norway and Nystul Navigasjon |

I have just tried AutoRoute 2001 and there is no address search of any kind for Norway.
AutoRoute 2005 does have Street and City search for Norway. So I was able to locate Oscarsgate in Oslo using Find.
Is there an address that you would like me to try for you?
