Hi, i have re-installed the necessary voice file to run my new voiceskin and it appears on the GO (ie not shadowed out) however I cannot get the new voice to work.. into which file or folder should the download be pasted?
Also, when my Go is connected to my pc, rather than seeing the front animated on the screen, I now have the rear and a 'cross' thru the cable, but all is connected correctly...? Please help.

The voice guidance files go in the root of the SD card. There should be a dataxx.chk file and a xxxx.vif file for each voice.

What you see is correct in V5. The cross seems, by general consensus, to be a reminder not to unplug the USB lead while data is being transferred. I usually leave for a further 30 secs. If you unplug too soon, there could be unexpected results, like the TTG not rebooting!!

Ok, I open up the download, this gives me three files, a 'read me' 'data01.chk' and 'vs-ozzy.vif'. Into which folder or file do I paste these two into, please give me the text of the folder required, there are so many, I dont know whats what Embarassed
Also noticed I've been reverted back to 4.42, and although my pc says 5.00, when I reinstall I still have 4.20....whats going on...?

the special voice skins from voiceskins.com are aware of the v5 upgrade problem and are working on a free update for customers that have paid for the voices

Rolling Eyes I really have to stop looking so deep into things sometimes...

For anyone else stuck, heres the guide..

1)Buy and download your new impersonated voice
2)Connect Go without the disc to the USB
3)'Start'
4)'My Computer'
5)TomtomGo (ESmile
6)Paste the purchased 'dataxx.chk' over the corresponding 'xx' number.
7)paste the purchased 'VIF' file over the 'VIF' file
8)Turn off and unplug the Go
9)Change pref- >->->- change voice - select voice allocated.

I thank you... 8)

Anyone else think that these are a bit expensive considering the quality of the impersonations, some are ok but some are dire.
I see them as a joke thing to do and I certainly would shell out £10 on a joke theme, £2 at the most.

Surely there must be some free downloads somewhere.

Maybe they should start getting famous people to do these, I want Eddie Izzard and Jeremy Clarkson doing mine.
