You can have any maps as long as they come from Navman, |

Hmm thanks. that was a detailed reply, glad that you are ready to help newbies. but it doesn't really answer my question, as to whether there is a way to get tomtom or autoroute on to the icn610, I have been on to the navman website, but it doesn't really give much detail. Since buying it a couple of weeks ago, i have found several destinations/postcodes that aren't on the icn610. and navman arent very much help, was kinda hoping that this site may have some unbiased answers, but thanks anyway. 8O

The iCN is a closed box - i.e. it cannot run any software other than what Navman provides. As are the TomTom GO and Garmin products. If you want to be able to swap between different software suppliers, you would need to go to an open system such as a PPC or a Palm.
As for maps, the current technology means that the applications only work with the maps from that provider, so if you have Navman softwrae it will only work with Navman Maps. |

Hi pj2504
I liked robertn`s reply, very short, sweet and accurate, but like you me and other newbies, a little more goes a long way. Although robertn did fully reply to you after you Hmmd?
However, I`m the proud owner of the iCN610 and have only been using it a few Days now, but its brilliant for my use. The system is only as good as the data installed, and as the iCN610 is slowly being replaced by other models and the prices are dropping for this model, I`ll be surprised if there is full support for this model forever? Infact in the `Speed cameras` section, this web site, it does`nt show any support for the iCN610, but its V3 and support is still available, of sorts, just need to edit some .csv files for importation of POI files.
If you search this forum by author and look for me `chas921` there are several replies that I`ve already submitted to try and help others. There may be some more info there that may help you.
Take care matey
