I have an Ipaq hx4700 and Fortuna clip on gps. The software I use it with is Tomtom 3.07 and memorymap. After some time I got it all happily working together. Today though after I had changed the Fortuna from XT mode to ST mode Memorymap stopped working. Now after uninstalling TT Gps and then reinstalling it I no longer have the Com8 port that the Fortuna needs to connect to. Does anybody know an easy way of getting it back. I really don't want to do a hard reset if I can help it. |

Uninstalling TomTom GPS has put the COM port back to where it should be. Have a look at the BT settings - the outgoing serial port is possibly COM 5 now _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the quick reply Lutz. I'm not sure I understand though. Do you mean the bluetooth settings in Tomtom GPS? I no longer have a com8 port showing in the settings their. Until I can get it back I wont be able to connect the Fortuna. |

Thanks again Lutz but I can't find anywhere in the ipaq's settings that show what the outgoing serial port is . I have looked through all the bluetooth settings but cannot find this. |

Ah right. I had been through the settings a dozen times and not found that one, but it says outbound com port 8. Com 8 is still not an option in Tomtom's gps settings though. |

I found out I needed to apply a patch to get the com8 option back. I must have applied the patch before but I had forgotten it. Tomtom still isn't working though even though it is now set up the way it was before when it worked OK. It looks like I might have to do a hard reset and start again. |
