Can anyone confirm that Ireland (not NI) is covered by the Major Roads of Europe?
I know that there is no coverage by the main UK map.
However when I attempt to scroll across Southern Ireland using the Major Roads Map the whole shape of the country appears to be corrupt.
I'm wondering if I need to reinstall the map to my SD card or is this just the way that the Major roads map displays Ireland and that there is ZERO coverage. Major roads would be better than nothing!
Using TT Navigator 3.07

Hi there,
I had a look for you - Ireland is there on my MRE, loaded on a SD card, with all the major roads as you would expect.
Hope this helps,

I am totally confused. I've reloaded the major roads of europe and I have ZERO coverage of Ireland, north or south.
Nothing in map view, no Irish cities in Navigator!
I copied the map files using the TT3 CD to my harddisc and then to my SD card.

Just checked again and planned a route from Cork to Dublin - 3:16 hours and 166.9 miles..... Also Ireland shows on the Map. I once had a problem similar to this and it was a problem with the SD card. I bought a newer faster card and all worked well.
Regards,

This sounds most strange to me. I've never had problems with the two card I've just tried - a 256Mb Viking and a 128Mb Integral.
I've tried reformatting the Integral to FAT32 but it makes no difference and a friend who has TT3, confirmed that he has no coverage of Southern Ireland either.
Please can you confirm that you are using TomTom Navigator 3.07?
Can anyone else confirm that there is coverage of Ireland in the Major Roads of Europe map.
cheers

This is getting weird.TomTom seem to confirm what I was saying, so why is SteveW able to cover Ireland??????
Dear...,
Unfortunately Ireland is not included.
It will be included in Tomtom Navigator 5. We advice you to subscribe to our newsletters so you can receive an e-mail when the upgrade process will start.

My original question:
The map on my CD of the Major Roads of Eurore appears to be corrupt.
The whole of Ireland is missing from Navigator and Map view.
I've tried reinstalling from my CD to my HardDisk and directly to my SD card but the result is the same.

It's on my Major Roads of Europe too. My version of TTN3 is 3.03 (427), if that makes a difference

I can confirm I am using 3.07, but that really doesn't make a difference as it is in the Map data. Ireland is shown in my MRE.
Tom Tom could be refering to the full coverage of Ireland, else they have taken it out of recent copies of MRE.

Ok in that case, would one of you folk be willing to test my Major roads map out as I'm convinced that they must be corrupt?
I am just not convinced that both of the SD cards I have both suffer from exactly the same "problem" especially as I've had no problems with these cards before.
I don't want to shell out £50 to find I'm in exactly the same position as I was before!
If you are willing to help me out, please drop me an email.
Meanwhile I'll get back to TomTom.

You will need to be careful how you check or you may end up with activation problems - I am no expert in this area, prehaps one of the moderators can help, but if the MRE gets used on nother PDA, would they need to re-activate it, and would that then not let you re-register another PDA for six months?
Out of interest, it was an Intergral 256 SD card that I had problems with on a RZ1710 - all sorts of problems trying to load maps.
Best one I have used is the Lexar x32. Much faster than the High speed Integral x60 that a friend uses.

Hi bl
I just came across this thread so I thought I would add what I can find. I havent loaded MRE onto my storage card, all I have on it is the map of the UK which also covers Northern Ireland. I am using TTN3 on an Ipaq 2210 ver3.07. From everything that you have written I suspect that you most probably have a faulty CD.

Thanks Howard, but please change to the Major Roads of Europe map. Do you get coverage of Ireland now? Try a route from Dublin to Cork for example.

This was why I offered to send someone my MRE map files for someone to test. I'm also hoping for a definitive reply from TomTom themselves, who so far have indicated that there is no coverage of Ireland in TT3.[/quote] |
