My tomtom go wouldnt find the new pois I was installing but Ive figured it now.
I had tried installing the safty camera information into the great_britain map folder on my tomtom but it overwrote it instead.
My solution was to copy the folder from my tomtom to my computer and then copyed the downloaded files into the great_britain folder I lifted from the tomtom. After that I reinstalled the whole lot to my tomtom, after which the tomtom application file dissapeared so I reinstalled it from the origonal disc which came with the tomtom.
It should be noted however that this may not be the usual way of installing said files but it worked for me so thats what counts.
If this helps any others then please use it as I see looking through the entrys that this is a common problem, I have been advised by your good selves to do what comes after this procedure which still stands as what is to be done but as far as install of files this worked for me.
Once again thankyou and I hope a few more get sorted like I have? I couldnt have done it without your guidence and advice.

One more question that springs to mind from the last message sent to me? Can you change the sd card in the tomtom go for a larger capacity one from any outlet or do you have to buy them from tomtom?

No, you can use any SD card. I bought a 512Mb SD card from SCAN (www.scan.co.uk), which worked perfectly. You just need to copy all your files from the original SD card onto your computer, then change the SD Card, and copy them back. Simple!
