TomTom 3 scared of a location!

Evenin' All:

There is at least one street that my TT3 will doggedly refuse to go down from either direction. It is a "local" road running between a roundabout and a road junction. When planning a route using "find" or "itinerary" methods, TT3 will go to any lenghts to avoid this short stretch. There are no apparent restrictions on this particular stretch of road, and it is not the subject of an "avoid" restriction. There is one exit road from the roundabout that is a "not allowed to enter", road but the exit in question is not so restricted. TT3 will happily traverse any other road in the area, but no way can I force it to follow the best route if it involves this bit of road! Even when I plan a route over just this stretch of road, it will go literally miles around the houses to travel the 200 yards!

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Great Britain Navigator map to no effect. There are Post Code and Speed Camera overlays which were left untouched by the reinstall operation.

Anyone seen this one before? It's driving me insane. Confused

There have been reports of some roads which are, for some reason, not navigable. Sometimes it's down to a 'break' in the mapdata. Can you identify this road and then I can look at it with other mapping software to see if it's restricted in those, too.

The road in question is Hurst Way near the Madejski Stadium in Reading, the short section between Acre Road (roundabout) and Biscuit Way. I was working out a route for a friend of mine to get to the carpark at the end of Boot End when I came across this. Be interested to hear if you come up with anything. (By the way, the Stadium itself is shown in the wrong place, too).

By the way, I just realised that there is no such problem when I use Directions Navigator 4 mapping s/ware, so it would appear to be down to TT3.

Thanks for the replies, guys. It would appear that Oldboy has got it right - TeleAtlas appears to be the culprit, and there is presumably no quick fix.

Tim has a good point, but I would be interested to know a) how many more glitches there are like this, and b) whether there is any kind of fix available. If Tim is correct it may just be a matter of downloading a updated version of TT3/TTG, if it exists. With the wrong combination of one-way streets, dead-ends etc., one could be sent miles off course with just one error like this in the wrong place. You would, of course, normally spot the anomaly, unless you just told TT to "take me home from here" without looking too closely at where you were going. Might make for an interesting tour!
