Sale of Maps Supplied with ICN510

There are a lot of people selling original maps supplied with icn510 on Ebay. The maps are being sold by people who have bought their units in the US, then buy the UK maps and want to sell the original maps unopened and unregistered. It is my understanding that these maps have no value whatsoever as they do not have a registration number commencing with the letter R. Could somebody confirm my belief. Will Navman allow them to be registered if they have not been registered elsewhere. - Thanks for any advice

Provided they have a valid and unused activation key with them I see no reason why they should not work. Have a read here where someone has sucessfully used UK maps on a US 510.

However, there is no harm in confirming this with Navman.

I understand that maps purchased as separate product work just fine. The question is whether maps puchased together with the unit and which have not yet been activated will work. Speifically If I buy a Navman 510 in the USA, do not open the disks and try to load them on a Navman 510 bought in Australia will this be possible. There is no registration code supplied with the disks that come with the machine that I am aware of.
