Hi Folks, Only had my TTG just over a week, downloaded the uk speed camera data base within a day or so every thing working fine.

Guess what, got home from work today and opened a letter from the "Safety Camera Unit" saying I had been done for doing 82mph on a 70mph dual carriageway back in January, Does anybody know anyone who has got away with this type of offence using the advice by the ex police officer who advertises on this website.

Cheers

It used to be that the registered keeper of the vehicle had to be notified within 14 days. If it's a company or hire car it could take longer.

Thanks for the replys lads, The car is a company car (leased) the offence took place on the 2nd January 2005, I was only overtaking a car that was going about 65mph, I don't normaly speed, just my luck!

Does anybody know how the legal system works regarding getting off with the offence, and does anybody know if the advice from http://www.uk-driving-secrets.com/beat/offer/?int=GGL does work.

I spoke to a solicitor this evening he reckon's he can get me off and has had a 100% success rate the only drawback is it's going to cost me about £1,500, I think it's better to take the points and the fine.

Easy, don’t speed and don’t break the law then you have nothing to worry about, your not the only one on the road don’t forget that. Why on earth would you want to over take a car that is doing 65mph when you can only do 70mph max? How far in front do you think 5mph is going to get you?

I know 5mph is not a lot and i'm sorry for the last post but why should I have to slow down to the speed of the car in front. I know it was my fault for speeding in the first place but I only increased my speed to overtake. It was while I was overtaking that I got nabbed, I could see the white van parked in a lay-by as I was overtaking but did not realise until to late. By the way have you ever been 5 mins late for an appointment becouse you have been stuck in a traffic jam! you normaly find it is some bloke doing 65mph in the centre lane of a motorway.

All the best

Many thanks Wishlist for the link, when I have got a bit of time tomorrow I will study the information you posted. I had a quick look, it says that after three months I should be in the clear, but I drive a company car does that give the police extra time to serve the the summons as they did not know who the registered keeper of the car was?

Cheers

I think they're valid for 3 years and on your licence for 4, or is it 4 and 5 years?

The points stay with you for 4 years. So what? you have to get 12? If you have a company car and they pay insurance why worry?
