Quickest takes into account the road speeds, so a quicker route maybe a motorway route as opposed to an A or B road route.
Shortest is the shortest distance in miles and kilometers. |

Shortest will take least miles, quickest will keep you more on major roads, which are generally faster and therefore quicker, although the distance travelled will be further. _________________ Tim |

One takes you the quickest route (not necessarily the shortest) the other takes you the shortest route (which may not be the quickest)
A
|
B---C
So to get from A to C
Via B may be the quickest as it is all fast roads but it is clearly not the shortest by distance, whereas getting from A directly to C is shortest but it may take longer as the roads are slower. _________________ Ian.
