IPAQ H3970 Problems with Kingston 256SD

Hi all,

My first post so a big HELLO to everyone! :D ... and of course a question from the knowlegeable ones.

I have been peeping these boards for a while now and decided to buy a EMTAC BT GPS for my H3970 which I have had lying around for a while. I also needed some memory so I bought a 256mb Kingston SD card. However this is the problem...

The PPC only chooses when to recognise the SD cards and I have trouble formatting it in the PPC. I can access the card no problem from a PC and card reader and can format it this way no problem.

Does anyone know how I can solve this or is it a new card for me

After further investigation it looks as though the Kingston SD cards pins are a fraction too short!

I tried a friends Canon branded card in and it worked straight away, The only difference I can see is that the copper pins on the canon are about 1mm longer. This makes sence as if I hold the Kingston card in the PPC slot not letting it ping back up and lock into position (if you have the 3970 you'll know what I mean) the PPC recognises the card no probs, as soon as I leave go it looses the card

I am now on the phone to http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk where i bought it from to find out if I can get a refund or a different make of card (with linger pins!).
