I was about to place an order for a TomTom Go. I have been using Nav.3 for about 6 mnths. Fed up with losing my bluetooth connection and so on. Like the Tomtom system. Do I pay the £400.00 for a current model or wait for the new product. Somone out there knows what I should do! |

Hi surrey_highlander,
to the forum!
If possible, try and sort out the Bluetooth issue with your TTNav3 system and then upgrade to TTNav5 at a later stage. What set-up are you using and what problems are you experiencing?
If you really want to go for a TTGO 5, then I’d wait a while to see what the pricing structure will be.

I'd wait for the free software only update to Navigator 5 that TomTom are going to be offering when it's ready - you may find that solves your issues. It's also going to be pretty much the same software as Go 5 - TomTom use a "common platform" approach to software development these days.
Even without the future free software upgrade, I'd hang on in any case. You may be able to find a good price on the existing Go units as they're discontinued. Meanwhile, the new Go units leave open the option of using TomTom Plus for traffic aware routing, whereas the existing Go doesn't have Bluetooth so it won't offer this. If you're interested in TomTom Plus, even as a future possibility rather than something you intend to subscribe to immediately, you need to wait for one of the new Go products.
