Now tell me again - why would you want to use GPS with your server or desktop at home? _________________ Lutz

Does it really matter??
I'm just asking for advice if these items would work with it or not.

Yes it would work, but it would also be a waste of energy. At home you can use the standard 5V power suppy of your Pocket PC to feed both the Pocket PC and the serial GPS. _________________ Lutz

The power supply that I have for the PDA hasnt got anywhere to go into the GPS receiver. I only have a lead that will fit into a cigarette lighter.
Thanks for the advice. |

On my old iPAQ 3630 I can connect the 5V power to the iPAQ, then connect the Y-cable to the serial port and - without plugging in the cigarette lighter adapter - the GPS receiver will get power through the iPAQ and will be able to get a fix etc. _________________ Lutz

But thanks for your help. I'll be looking at getting one of the 2 above power supplies or both. |
