I have an SD card in my Ipaq1940 and am trying to run Tomtom 3 but get many "hang-ups" and have to reboot the iPAQ several times to get everything to work. I just read somewhere that a CF?? card may be the answer.
Can I use a CF card in the iPAQ1940? Tha manual only mentions SD cards.

I think that the 1940 only takes SD cards, and not CF cards.

What SD card are you using at the moment?

Regards,

The reference to using Cf in preference to SD applies to the iPAQ2210 series which suffered random lockups when using SD cards with a BT GPS. Changing to CF resolved the lock ups completely.

The 1940 does not have the option to use Cf as it has only the one SD slot. However lock-ups and other issues such as you have are often caused by a problematic SD card. If you have a spare SD card of an alternative brand try that and see if it helps.

It is a Kingston 256Mb
On the front it has: 30412-003.A00 P749028X01
On the back it has: GH0453035cH0501Pa

This thing cost over £20 so hope it isn't a bummer!

I did a full format before installing the maps etc.
