I'm going on vacation in Southern France (Languedoc) and I' trying to find a cost efficient setup for my Toshiba e750/igps-360.
Anyone have any ideas? I've looked at Tom-Tom but they don't guarantee it will work with the CF gps and the price is a bit steep to gamble with.

Mapopolis will allow you to download trial maps that are good for nine days. _________________ Lutz

|
|
I was going to post a similar question ref Mapping Software for Switzerland - I'm going on a ski trip and propose to drive to various resorts in Zurich area. I have Ipaq 4450 and Fortuna Clip-On - using Fugawi software for UK. Don't really need/want to get the Fugawi Europe maps just for 9 days trip.
Mapopolis 9 day trial seems ideal option - is it self contained or do you need some software to run it? (Or will it run on Fugawi?).
Also where do I find it?
Thanks for any help. |

You will need to install the Mapopolis software, available from their site http://www.mapopolis.com/. The software is free as you pay for the maps you use, but with the nine day trial it gives you chance to use them for your holidays. _________________ Mio P550 Mio 3 TTN 6 2GB SD Card, Ipaq 5450: Integral 1Gb SD card, TTN 6, POICapture, PPC 2003 |

|
|
I did this and downloaded the software and local map for my area from their site and am very impressed. The downloads via my Toshiba Laptop onto my IPAQ 4450 went seamlessly and the program and map work very well with voice guided directions and re-routing working in a very timely fashion.
My only criticism is that I don't think you can locate destination by full postcode (only seems to work to the 1st 4 digits).
I'm hoping that I will still be able to download some maps for several Swiss cantons in a weeks time for my holiday - or will it tell me that I have now had my free trial? :D |

I think the trial period is by map, but am not sure. Anyhow, the complete package comes at a very competitive price. _________________ Lutz
