my ICN 650 powers off sometimes I have it mounted to to the windscreen but theres no set time for this. Sometimes it may be 1 hour or another time 3 hours. Could it be the windscreen heat vent may be blowing direct on the unit. Can anybody give me some advise. I have a ford Mondeo
Thank you |

Hi there
My son in law had a similar problem a couple of months ago using his iCN 630. In the end it was the in car power lead that was faulty and causing his problems. Navman sent him a new one under warranty and he's had no problems since.
This might not be the cause of your problem, though but I'd be surprised if it was because of where you have it mounted. My iCN is mounted in a similar position in my Renault, right above the windscreen vents and I've not experienced it closing down.
Perhaps a call to Navman may throw some light on the problem.
Regards

Ian,
I had the same problem with a 635 in that it would turn off after about 15-20 minutes. I also thought it might have been the fact it was near the windscreen vents.
I rang Navman and they said to return it to the supplier and it would be replaced. Did that and have had no problems whatsoever with the replacement. |
