|
|
May have been answered before, but cant find it, so apologies in advance.
Having run both TT2 and TT3 now for getting close to 2 years, I'm still having problems where icons are not being displayed on the screen.
I've parred down my POIs to absolute minimum (UK speedcamera db, and the likes ok M-Way services, BP, Shell, Texaco etc)
I now find that I have all my UK speed camera icons on the screen, but dont get shell or service stations.
I've gone through both checkpoint (it alerts me that there is a shell garage even though no icon) and TT3 POI properties page, and the tick boxes are crossed. I've deleted all non required .ov2 and .bmp files from the GB map folder on the SD card, but still cant get shell or service station icons to show.
Thinking the bit map may be corrupt, i've removed them, and copied new ones in there place.
This is really hacking me off now :-) I know its hardly effecting the functionality of the product, but I would like to be able to see garages before I pass them!
What am i doing wrong???
Thanks in advance |

It would help if you filled in your profile as to which PDA, SD card and which update version of TT3 you are using.
It may well be that you are short on storage space and/or memory. Try unticking the speed cameras. Then exit TT and restart it, then se if all your Services and petrol stations then show on the map. _________________ Graham.

Ok, sig done ;-)
I've tried that, turned off every POI. Good news, now have Shell, bad news, still no Motorway services.
Turned all the others back on and I lost the shell icons.
Memory when running
Storage - 6mb free
Program - 20.84mb free
Only TT3 running (with Checkpoint) _________________ Matt Field

Update -
This is wierd. Panning around the UK map up to Carlisle, I now have S symbol (motorway service stations) on the M6. Pan down to M1 - Toddington not there (although Checkpoint told me it 300m away this morning) Look for South Mimms which I added last night, thats not there either.
Have set POIs to display on map to 80 and zoomed right in, but still nothing? _________________ Matt Field

Matt I thinks your problem is to do with the amount of memory and storage space you have available and TT is not showing you all of them because of this.
On my XDA 2 I have Program memory free 46.86Mb and Storage Free 42.49Mb
I'm also running with the Pocketgps Speed camera database with the speed related cameras which means I have 38 .ov2 and 38.bmp files on the SD card and 51 sound files in .wav format also on the SD Card.
The only solution I think would be to try and reduce the number and size of your .ov2 files if that is what you are using. If you are using TT's built in petrol stations etc. try using downloaded .ov2 files from this site and then trim them down to just cover the areas you travel in.
I'm assuming you only have 32Mb of Program and 32Mb of Storage available before you even install anything. _________________ Graham.

Thanks for that.
Have removed a load of programs (after backing up first), deleted loads of ov2 files, only had mway service POI showing and all I could see were service stations on the west coast.
Created my own Service Station POI overlay, didnt work, until I deleted the downloaded M-Way one. Guess I've been trying to use a corrupted overlay. Now going to restore the backup to get all my lovely programs back :-)
Cheers :-D _________________ Matt Field
