Hi Iv'e had my go for just over a week now and think its fantastic I followed the instructions on how to add the speed camera downloads which was very precise and easy.
Now I have just ordered a bigger card and want to add the spoken alerts is there any way someone can post a dummys guide how to do it as there seems to be some confusion amongst people on what to do, ie how to get the 30 gatso alerts instead of just gatso, also how to up the sound on the alerts as people seem to think they are too low
I must say I think this is a great site and have found it very informative keep up the good work !

If you download the .ZIP file and unzip it to a convenient location, you will find a folder called speed zoned. In this folder are 2 more folders, 1 Gatso and 1 Mobile.

You will need to drag-and-drop the .OV2 and .BMP files from each folder to your Great_Britain_Map folder on the SD card.

You will also need to drag-and-drop the Redlight, Temp and Specs files from the main folder (.OV2 and .BMP) to the map folder.

To get the new spoken warnings you will need to follow the instructions which you can find at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-go-poi-alerts.php.

The sound is not adjustable from the TTG but I believe the lastest Data.CHK file has had the volume increased.

thanks the links not working at the moment I will try it later, does the go automatically reconise the speed limit of the road when you have added the 2 files from the speed zone file ?

It will know that there is a camera and give an indication of its speed rating which would normally be the road speed. TTG has no facility to recognise the limit on each road.

Not as the TTG stands at the minute, unless the Data.chk file is able to be modified again!!

It does. You have to follow the instructions at http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-go-poi-alerts.php and select the different TTG 'Sound Names' which have been changed in the Data.chk file.

For example - Beep 2 gives Gatso 30.

Do those Gatso's come up on the display and show icons with a circle and a number in the middle?

Hi CHEDS,

Have you got the following files in the GB map folder of your TTGO?

pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.bmp

If you passed a Gatso camera and it was a non-speed related icon and the TTGO just said "Gatso" then you have passed a Gatso that we don’t currently know it’s speed limit.

When it’s safe to do so, please look at the map, and make a note of the camera id and send it in an email to Richard, with the associated speed limit. The email address is:

No and Yes.

The original Gatso and Mobile data will be duplicated and can be deleted but the others Temp/Specs/Truvelo can be left as is.

Hope that helps
