Can anybody tell me if it is possible to display on the TomTom Map and Icon to show Speed cameras? If so how do I do it? |

If you've put the database files in your map folder, you need to enable the POI in the TomTom software. As you haven't said which version of TomTom software you're using, I'll guess at Navigator 3 on the Pocket PC. For that, you go to File -> Properties, and select the files you want displayed on the POI tab.

David, Yes it is TT3 and I have downloaded the Speed camera database and have the Speed camera in POI list however there is no Icon shown against this. It has been given a cross like a couple if other POI's which are displayed on the Map, however however there is no Icon for the Speed camera shown on map. I get warning the warning sound signals Ok. I would like to see Speed camera Icons on the Map if possible.

You need to copy both the .ov2 (data) and .bmp (icon) for each category you want to display to your map folder.
Exit TomTom Navigator (or soft reset) and restart it once you've done that, and you should then have the icons.

There should be .bmp files corresponding to all the .ov2 files in the Speed Camera Database .zip.
If you install the files using POIEdit and the POI Sync service, that should install the .bmp files from the server.

David, POIEdit and the POI Sync Service will not download the Speed related Gatso, Mobile .ov2 and .bmp files. They seem to only be available by directly downloading the complete Pocketgps Speed Camera database Zip archive. _________________ Graham.

That's a "known issue" at present. Adding the 'speed categorised' files requires POI Sync to be reworked a bit; that should hopefully be done fairly soon.
