I guess this should go in the Hardware furum, but since I don't know the manufacturer, I thought this was the best place to post for now.
I recently purchased a PDA/GPS kit which was supposed to come with a Rikaline High Sensitivity 6021-X6 CF GPS receiver. But it came with a different reciever instead. The supplier told me that this was a better more expensive card, but it has no name/numbers or manufacturer on the card so i don't know if I have been sent a cheap card or a better one than I was expecting.
Anyway, the card itself has a purple label with "GPS Receiver Compact Flash Card" written on it in white text. It also has a picture of a sattelite on the label in the top right had corner.
The antenna part is black plastic and has a round section that is hinged at the top and folds out. It has an internal/external switch on the top and a gold connector for an external antenna.
I will post a picture if I figure out how to do it.
In the mean time, does anybody have a similar card?
Do you know who makes this card, and how "good/expensive" it is?
Thanks a lot.

I'd need a picture to identify it, if you have one send it to me darren @ pocketgpsworld.com and I'll publish it in this thread. _________________ Darren Griffin |

That doesn't fill me with great confidence
But thanks for looking.
Anyone else...
Or should I just send it back and get them to send me the Rikaline they were supposed to send.

No, but the supplier doesn't list this card on their website, the manufacturer doesn't show their name on the product and I can't find anything similar on the internet. If it is so good, why aren't PDAmods listing it for sale?
Under the circumstances, I'd want a lot more information from the supplier about price/performance/manufacturer before I'd consider keeping it. Just a thought - is there any model number on the instruction book or installation CD? |

If only!
It didn't come with any instructions/manual or CD! It must be really new if they haven't even had time to write drivers and a manual for it! :D
I have just emailed PDAMods to get an RMA number, this one is going back, no matter how "GOOD" it is
