CP5 in true VGA?

I've replaced a defunct Ipaq with a Dell Axim X50v which has a great VGA display. Out of the box this emulates a normal QVGA display and CP5 works fine, but I prefer to work in true VGA using one of the tools that enables this.

I get mixed results: planning mode works very well - I get most of the display visible and to a much greater level of detail (4x), but guidance mode reverts to a quarter size display and is unusable.

I've tried the Brute Force VGA hack to force CP5 to use VGA to no avail; has anyone had more success?

I believe Navigon and the latest TT support VGA so hopefully ALK will follow suit.
