please help - everytime i load tomtom it says Loading aborted - too many POI files. this used to happen and i just pressed ok and it would then load, however it's stopped loading now.
i've reinstalled tomtom and checkpoint from scratch and unticked all POI's in checkpoint so presumably they don't load - but the problem still exists.
any suggestions?? much appreciated thanks. |

Do you have many custom POI files installed i.e. other than the Safety Camera ones? TomTom has a max limit (can't recall what it is, perhaps 64 files) so the first thing would be to remove some of them from the map folder. It could also be a corrupted POI file.
Look for .ov2 files and a .bmp file with the same name, move any that you can live without off the storage card onto the PC then see if you can start up TomTom.
If it then starts, re-add the POIs one by one until it fails. This will help narrow down a corrupted POI file if it is not caused by a large number of POI files. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I thought the limit for Navigator 3 was higher than 64 - but it is certainly possible to exceed it.
The best thing to do is move all the .ov2 and .bmp files out of your map folder, then move them back one at a time. As Darren says, add them back one at a time in the order they matter to you and keep testing.

I had the same problem occur, I have more than 1 map installed and managed to browse to the folder of the current map on the SD card, and removed all the POI that did not correspond to the country, i.e. they all start with a Country identifier. Thanks for you help... |
