I have a 2210 running TT3 - Its about 8 months old and recently its started locking up - the only way I can get it going again is to remove the battery for a couple of hours and do a hard reset. It only seems to do it when in the car on the charger. Anyone else come accross this or have a solution. Also what is the optimum FAT and Format type for the SD card for TT3?

Regards

Dave

How to check your ROM revision & update

On the PDA click on: Start, settings, system, asset viewer, version and check the ROM Revision e.g. 1.00.03 ENG You can update your ROM direct from HP web site
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
Tick the Download drivers and software And enter your model number 2210. This will then take you to the download section for your IPAQ. The BIOS section is what you want to be downloading in order to update the ROM. Once you download the file it is all self explanatory.

You will loose any personal data that you have put on the PDA. I would also recommend that you update Tom Tom from www.tomtom.com

Thanks Steven - I already had the latest ROM but I have replaced it and now reloading TT3 - will see if that works. Another question - when I install TT3 the PDA asks if I want to replace some of the windows files - is that Yes to all or No to all. Maybe that could be my problem as I remember selecting Yes to all last time.

Regards

Dave

you normally get that message if you have a previous version of tom tom installed on the PDA, you can try and override it.

You may already have solved the problem, but if not read on....

I used to have a similar problem, i.e. the application locking up midway through a journey. The Tom Tom support team suggested unticking all POIs, which I did, and that solved the problem completely. I hope that they can solve this problem and I can go back to using the POIs, but for the time being everything seems fine.

i take it your using bluetooth if so the best thing to do is go for a cf storage card as the 2210 des seam to play up when using a btgps and sd card it seams to happen with most sat nav programd personally i think it the way the 2210 reads the sd card)

I'm having problems with TomTom locking up with a SysOn CF GPS card. I've not ordered a wired GPS and a high speed CF card for storage, so we'll see if this solves the problem

davenash i would recommend that you look at maybe Kingston but have a look around, i would not recommend that you go for the cheapest card as the read speed can be very poor resulting in your programs accessing the memory card will run slow.

Hope this helps
