I look after a small computer shop and we have been having quite a few requests to install tomtom .etc. I'd like a recommendation on a tomtom compatible bluetooth gps unit and pocketpc . One of our suppliers sells siemens loox 410. but it's quite pricy we sell it at £225. Pocket GPS is a top site!
thanks in advance,

best thing to do is look at the tomtom compatability list. There are alot of PDA's and alot of different price ranges. _________________ Regards

HP iPAQ rz1710 Pocket PC (no bluetooth)

£135
1gig sd card and tomtom5.
I'm a bit confused about why bluetooth gps recievers are so popular because if they have a limited battery time and require charging via a cable they're surely they're no better than a wired option...
cheers,

They are more popular because they can be positioned in an optimal location without compromising the position of the PDA and they use their own power source, so don't reduce the operating time of the PDA (BT connection power usage notwithstanding). _________________ Tim |

cheers for the reply Tim.
I'm just looking for the cheapest and simplest option. The palm tunston e2 is a bit cheaper and has bluetooth it also won a pc pro award this month. Is gps single strength an issue? i would've assumed if you just stuck it somewhere on the dash it would get through the windscreen.
the cheapest bluetooth gps i found is :-
X50 Bluetooth GPS receiver £70

We could also offer the solar powered gps unit on that page, unless it's a gimmick??
I could get a cheapo universal caddy for a couple of quid, but it wouldn't have speaker support. Is this really so necessary?
