Hello all,
I have both tomtom 3 and tomtom mobile, just out of interest I thought i'd try my tomtom mobile card in my Ipaq. I browsed to the tomtom mobile card, opened the TTmobile.exe and Tomtom mobile kicked into life on my Ipaq pocket pc.
First to be displayed was the tomtom mobile disclaimer. I got passed that screen and onto the navigate screen but was unable to use any other option than navigate home.
The gps worked too and it did actually navigate. its a pity I couldn't access the other menus.
The tomtom mobile app looked much better on the larger ipaq screen.
Anyone else tried this?
Cheers

Yes, but for it to really make sense you need a Pocket PC with a keyboard.
I tried it on the iPAQ 6315 with thumbboard attached, and it worked reasonably well (the key presses were not always recognized, and the Pocket PC crashes when you exit the application). But since it's the same functionality as TTN 2004 there's no real reason to run TTM on a Pocket PC. _________________ Lutz

I wonder if you could some how use the more up to date map info from tomtom mobile on TT3 (I have a licence for both).
Cheers

If you have a license for both then you should be able to open the V4 maps with TTN3 _________________ Lutz

Hi,
Yes it did work, my tom tom 3 now has the newer TT Mobile map info inc the M6 toll road on
It didn't ask me for any activation code either (I thought the activation info was on my old TT3 map too).
It looks as if it might be worth others doing too, as long as they've got both licenced products.
Regards

Have tried it also out of curiosity. When you select 'navigate to home', you get a static 2d map showing your last location, but on the PPC this screen has an extra portion on the right side with the number of satelitte fixes, a battery indicator, and versionnumber showing. Strange, it must detect the PPC hardware. |
