Run the CD and start the TomTom Installer. Follow the prompts and select the option to install a map, choose the Great Britain map and then wait....
It takes an age to copy 100Mb over USB but once done you should eb good to go. The other alternative is if the SD card image is on the install CD. In that case just copy the contents of that over to the SD card. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I am not aware of any GPS package available for rz1710.
rz1710 does not have bluetooth.
What GPS package do you have? _________________ Pc-Mobile

Hp and TomTom here in the UK have released a special bundle of the rz1710 and TomTom Navigator 2004. This software is only currently available in the HP Navigation Kit bundle and is essentially the common navigation engine version as seen in GO, Palm and Mobile versions. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You can do it manually
Download the Speed Camera Database
Open your internet browser and go to http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php
And download and save the file pocketgps_uk_sc.zip to your desktop, extract all the files to a folder (that you create) You need to then physically drag and drop these files onto the memory card.
Configuring the Speed camera database
Tap on the mains screen
Select “change Preferences”
Click on “arrow” to go to more options
Click on “Maintain POI”
Click on ”warn when near POI”
Enter “PO” and select pocketgps Gatso
Enter Distance for warning, normally 100 yards.
Select Warning sounds
Tick box “Warn only if POI is on route”
Click on the “Main menu again, more options, browse maps, options,
Select “POI” and and POI in the bottom left corner and select GPS Gatso select done
You can then browse the maps and see where the cameras are and if you approach a camera that is on the database. you should here a sound warning you of this _________________ Regards

I'm sorry about this question being off the topic a little but Darren was talking about installing maps back onto a PDA using a USB cable. Can you install maps and software and stuff using Bluetooth Or is Bluetooth very slow
Many thanks and apologies for breaking the topic a little. |
