I am using tomtom navigator 3.03 and I noticed that the new M6 toll motorway is not on the map so every time I cross it it thinks I am driving in the forest!
When do they update their maps? |

The lack of M6 toll road has caused quite a bit of discussion. See this thread in TomTom forum. It should be included in next update which will probably be out this year. _________________ Medion 95000 | TT3.07 | Kingston 512MB SD |

I doubt the A1(M) around Wetherby will be included in the new release. It only opened a couple of weeks ago. I would imagine if TomTom are going for an April release the maps are already locked in by now. |

Indeed - it takes a finite amount of time for the mapping companies to map the roads, and I believe TeleAtlas only release new maps to their customers every six months now.
I wouldn't think the new A1(M) at Wetherby will appear in any TeleAtlas products released much before late September or October, though I may be surprised.

Can you confirm were exactly the A1(M) runs around wetherby?
SmartSTv3 is showing the A1(M) running from the East of Wetherby just North of the B1224 and running parallel to the A1 up to Walshford. _________________ Ian.

That's correct, it branches off just after the race course and continues pretty much due north and links up with the existing A1(M) north of Walshford.
Another reason it'll not likely get into maps for a while is that the work there is far from complete. Many of the junctions have to be remodelled and the old A1 singled. It'll be a few months until that is all complete.
Then after that it'll all be changed again as the Brabham to Wetherby section is upgraded too. But that's a couple of years off. |

So the stretch of the A1(M) that I quoted, is this the new bit or has it been there for a while?
That particular stretch is not in AutoRoute 2005 and is shown as under construction on www.map24.com _________________ Ian.

In that case I am quite surprised to find that it is on the v3 maps with SmartSTv3.
Usually new roads take months to appear. Maybe this is a sign that TeleAtlas are finally getting their act together. _________________ Ian.

shame there isnt a program that will allow you to load the map in and "paint" the new road on yourself. _________________ Garmin Edge 800 (cycling)

Didn't understand a word of that
I had a problem with the bypass at the weekend, travelled down it, no problem, it showed me driving through a field, again no problem. Then I rejoined the existing route and it started recalculating my route.. it got to 0.01 miles to go, and stopped.. the circle kept turning in the middle of the screen and wouldn't go away! I couldn't close TomTom down except from the stop programmes section. Then I tried to reload it and it just hung.
Wetherby broke my TomTom! |
