The hobby of Geocaching is very interesting to me. I would love to start doing this with my family.
Is this hobby/sport still very popular? The site I was on showed 2003 as the most recent caches in my area (Long Island).
If so, where is a good place to go to start getting involved? There are so many sites it can be daunting to try to figure things out.
Thanks,
Pete R. |

Lo all...
I was also looking into Geocashing, but not sure if my Navman Pin was the best thing to use for it. Most ppl seem to use Garman stuff. Also dont know what software to use with pin, as SmartST seems to be best for road trips.

I started geocaching about 18 months ago, bought a garmin, found this a good interest, we caravan many a weekend, so we always try to find a geo site within the camping range. We use the garmin also when out walking with O/S maps. This was the start of sat nav for me have had a unit for the car for about a year now would not be with out it, has made my driving life so easy, driving to unknown places without planning all the map routes, makes you wonder how we coped before.

Hi Pete R,
I use the Medion 250 have placed the Poi safety camera's downloads from this site well pleased, always keep it in location mode in the areas that I am used to, as a reminder for accident blackspots and gatso's etc.
