iPAQ 3970 / tt3/ Rikaline 6010 / Brodit mount query

I am using this set up with GB/europe maps loaded onto a 1GB storage card. I have selected the correct GPS and serial cable on COM1 on the GPS settings and use the Brodit mount which has the data/PS2 connection.

All is working well except the route planning and map page view refresh goes slowly.

Can anyone advise as to how I can look at my settings to see if I can improve this please ?
