|
|
Hi there !
I'm planning to to buy an SD card to put more maps on it (Benelux, France, ...)
I have the choice between a 512 MB, or a 1GB card.
Between Kingston (Elite Pro) or SanDisk (Ultra 2) ...
Do you have any comments or suggestions to make about speed and quality of those memory cards ?
Thanks ! |

If you are going to put lots of maps on, the 512 may be too small.
I have the UK map (about 100Mb) and the Major Roads of Europe (82Mb) the postcode and speed camera PoIs - Total 233Mb
The France map is a lot bigger than the UK map - extra 133 Mb and Benelux will add more.....
There's a list of the map sizes on one of the forums - mytomtomgo, I think. |

I found the faster cards to be of benefit when…
1) Planning long routes (eg Scotland to Devon, or throuogh France or Spain).
2) When reading / writing data via the PC (note that I use a USB2 card reader) |

Frazzle has used both faster cards and slower cards and says he didnt notice a difference in the TTG, but yet it would be faster when plugged into the PC I suppose. |
