Hi, I was wondering if anyone from here travels scotland and has the Safety cameras installed in the POI.
Do the lists supplied give good coverage?
Are they worth installing?

I'm having a lot of trouble installing them to mine, so i'm reading up all I can in the forum before i take another shot at it. (5 Attempts)

I've added most of the ones that I could find in the Glasgow area (There is a list of locations published by Strathclyde Police). Also Paisley & Greenock. Most other ones that I've seen are reasonably accurate (Edinburgh and A1 to Border). I haven't had a chance, yet, to check the ones on the way up to Inverness.

Definitely!! If you are having difficulty installing the Camera Database, ask specific questions on the forum appropriate to your software/hardware and someone will help you out

Many of Scotland camera locations can be found on the web sites from this link;

http://www.nationalsafetycameras.co.uk/nscl/cameras/cameras.html

quick quide:

click 4th link on left
click the Scotland area of the map
pull down the right scroll bar
then at the bottom there is another scroll bar, all of the sites can be selected from there.

Regards

As I said before, IF you post details of which software you're using, which hardware, and what problems you're actually encountering, you've a VERY good chance of getting a helpful reply. I'm presuming, given the forum, that you're using a Navman iCN 510, so that means that I can't help you. I think that the iCN510 is only available with SmartSTv3, so that means that I can't help you, BUT, have you followed the instructions here? If so, at what point does it all go horribly wrong?

PS:
My experience is that posting messages saying "It doesn't work, please email me" is VERY likely to result in deafening silence Exclamation

I follow the instruction to the letter.

i'm getting on a lot better than before but it comes to a point when i get this...
When i click transfer, the message i receive is.. available space, 1kb space required 345kb.

As you point out, it would be good to have a bit more info so someone can help me with a problem.

So can i ask if anyone has transferred the safety camera locations to there navman icn510, was it to the unit itself or the card (GB card).

Do you have to buy a card with more space on it, ie a 256mb card, if so, which is the type of card I should get.

Something this simple should not be causing headaches surely?

At this point, are you able to check how much space is actually available on the device?

I tried to find out how to see how much available space on the device various times, but with no luck.
Should I be doing this POI Safety Camera upate with the CARD OUT?
How would i find out how much memory is available.
(Thats if you've not lost patience with me already Crying or Very sad )

Do you have a cardreader? If so, pop your SD card in there and use File Explorer to see how much space is on it. Alternatively. delete one of the maps you don't use and then try to reinstall the cameras.

If you don't go there, yes. You should be able to delete them from the Navman Desktop if you have your 510 connected at the same time.

I'm going to try that then. But I have a question first,

Would I be able to make a copy of my card and transfer the whole contents onto a bigger capacity card, (say a 256mb)

Therefor leaving my original card in factory condition.?

Again, not having an iCN510, I don't know the answer to that. There would be no harm, however, in buying a bigger SD card and trying it. If it doesn't work by copying the stuff across you can simply load the maps to your new SD card in the normal way, using the Navman Desktop.
