I have just purchased a SysOn GPS CF plus; in my iPAC 2215, the SysOnChip Viewer can see and read data from the unit without difficulty.
HOWEVER, my installed TomTom Navigator 2004 (USA) software cannot connect with the SysOn GPS and read data from it.
In using the TomTom software, I select either the "Other Cable SMEA GPS" or the "Other Bluetooth GPS" option, then click on the "SysOnChip CF_GPS_Receiver" option, but the TomTom software never receives data, in spite of the fact that the SysOnChip unit's LED lights up after the above maneuvers.
The (successful) settings for the SysOnChip Viewer are NMEA, Port COM7, and Baudrate 4800.
Is is possible to get the TomTom software to receive data from the SysOn GPS CF plus? How?
Many thanks! |

This is how my Syson CF plus is working with TomTom (European) GPS driver 3.07:
On the GPS-page deselect the left square.
Select SysonChip GPS CF Plus in the first box.
Select SysonChip CF_GPS_Receiver in the second box.
Activate these settings by tapping on the left square.
If this doesn't work you can always connect by following the same procedure and select NMEA 0183v2 4800 in the first box.
Keep in mind that selecting SysonChip GPS CF Plus in the first box requires a default baudrate-setting of 4800 into the Syson. So if you changed the baudrate to a higher rate the only way to get it work with TomTom is selecting NMEA 0183v2 with the right baudrate.
Good luck! |

Mapwalker:
Thanks for trying to help.
Apparently your TomTom (European) GPS driver 3.07 differs from mine, as the user interface is different. My UI displays "SysOnChip CF_GPS_Receiver", which I select, but as described in my initial post, doesn't work.
Any other suggestions, hacks, etc are welcome.
Thank you! |

The new TomTom Navigator 2004 North America Review on this website sheds some light on your problem!
The software is different indeed and TomTom now only supports BT-gps and serial gps. Very strange. |
