Hi everyone, just a bit of info for you all (unless you already know) on the Remote Control for the Navman iCN 510, after trying to obtain one from various companies in the UK and only to be told that Navman hadn't supplied them yet I contacted Navman direct (web site on-line store) and ordered one at 11am, the unit arrived at 8am the following day. The price being approx £31 (31 GBP).

Ouch, £31 is a bit much I'd say, but then again I suppose they need to make a profit. Hmmm, I would have thought more around £20 would have been better and would have sold a lot more. |

Go on Paul tell us where you got and make me feel sick, in fact we will be needing another so if you could let me know (probably useful for others as well) where you can obtain them.

Yeah same here but thanks anyway, just have to grin and bear it I suppose. I will definitely be keeping my eye on Navman store though in case they made a mistake.

Just wondering if anyone knew where the ICN 510 remote control can be purchased in the US? So far, I can only find it on Navman's site. Is there a projected release date to retailers? |

Brandon78: You can still order it on their website. US is not a country listed, I just selected UK and noted in the comments that the order was to be sent to US with my US zipcode. It came in about a week from UK (via USPS). Btw, it came out to be US$34.74.

rentboi -
You must have gotten a great deal. I went to order the remote, and it came up as $84 something. I decided it wasn't worth it. |

|

It is outrageous! Cost of making such a remote could not exceed two euros! I mean, if that remote can control the actualy satellite I would understand the high price!
Can someone post the IR codes for that remote? The codes can be easely pulled using a Pocket PC with an IR port and decent remote control software (software can be downloaded for free online).
I have seen few compact programmable remots that could work as a replacement.
Please let us know...
Thanx |
