Hi All,

I've recently purchased a GPS receiver for use with my Toshiba E335 pocket pc. I've installed the driver which came with the receiver, but alot of the time I cant get the PDA to pickup the receiver.

I've installed winfast navigator which says it cant connect to com1. If I remove the drivers and re-install then sometimes I can get the GPS to work ok. other times I cant, and have to uninstall the driver again.

I believe the the driver I'm using is proliant PL-203 or similiar.

Can anyone help as 9 times out of 10 I cant get gps working

I have read that toshibas use port 9, but according to my pda com 9 is the ir port.

Can someone confirm if I should be using com1 or the serial port?

You cannot uninstall the driver without using a registry editor.
So the original driver is there all the time.
It should be com 1 or 2.

But the driver should not be the problem. You should look somewhere else for the problem particularly the GPS.

I believe its a problem with the driver myself, because someones after I've installed the driver and run 'test' (which is supposed to tell me which port to use) it says ' Device not found. The GPS doesnt need to be plugged in for it to tell me what port to use

Did you use the driver supplied with the GPS?
If you did then there should be no problem with the driver.
