|
|
Hi all,
Finally decided after months of sitting in traffic jams trying to get home that I should look at investing in the Traffic add-on.
My setup is:
TT 3.03(427) – Bluetooth with TomTom receiver.
IPAQ2210
Pocket PC 2003
Bluetooth for Windows CE 1.4.1 build 60
All works fine at the moment (especially since moving the maps onto CF)
My phone is a Nokia 6310i.
GPRS is configured and I can access a web page from the PPC.
However, I can’t access the web when connected to the TomTom BT receiver.
(Or I can’t connect to the receiver when connected to the net)
The pocket PC only appears to handle one connection at a time.
I guess this will mean that traffic isn’t going to work.
I’ve read on here that this configuration is possible so if someone out there has done it can you give me some clues please.
I could well be missing something simple here as I’ve little knowledge of bluetooth or GPRS I’m afraid.
Thanks
Graeme |

It should work - but a couple of things come to mind.
Firstly - check the firmware version on your 6310i by keying in *#0000#. If you have a lower version than 5.50, get the phone upgraded by a Club Nokia Service Centre - 5.60 is the latest. Firmware versions earlier than 5.50 have various issues.
Secondly - the Bluetooth stack version on your 2210 sounds old. Have you upgraded to the latest ROM? If not, download the upgrade from the HP site and follow the instructions carefully. Be aware that you'll probably have to hard reset and install everything from scratch afterwards.

How do you find out which Bluetooth stack version you've got on iPAQ 2210, PPC2003? _________________ Geraint

Ah! Just found it.
I too have Bluetooth for Windows CE (BTW-CE) Version 1.4.1 Build 60. Asset viewer reports module type 0, and radio revision 141.
Operating system is Microsoft Pocket PC 4.20.0 (Build 14053). Asset viewer reports it as Windows CE 4.20. Is that Pocket PC 2003?
ROM version is 1.10.07 ENG (ROM date = 03/01/04). Won't installing a newer ROM version result in my PPC getting wiped? _________________ Geraint

Thats the same ROM and bluetooth driver as I have on my 2210. I don't think there are any newer ones available, well none on the HP site. |

I was mistaken - that is the latest ROM for the iPAQ h2210. I was trying to remember what the build of the soft loadable Bluetooth stack for the 1.00 ROM was, and I remembered a number that was too high.
Apologies for any confusion caused.
