|
|
I am happy with my current setup of H2210 + TTN3 + TT BT GPS. However I am going for a holiday in Lanzarote but TTN3 does not cover there, according posts in this forum. It seems that SmartSTv2 has certain degree of coverage. So I am wondering if I install SmartSTv2 on my H2210,
i) does it work with TT BT GPS?
ii) will it cohabit happily with my TTN3, ie, should I be worried about conflicts?
iii) Is there any other alternative for Lanzarote?
Thanks. |

It will work fine with certain considerations. Certain versions of TT's GPS driver lock the BT Serial Port for their exclusive use.
There are a couple of workarounds such as using 2.07 or earlier or the latest version which appears to be unaffected. Alternatively just uninstall the TomTom~GPS entry which removes this issue.
You could also just remove TomTom's GPS driver in it's entirety for the duration of your holiday.
Having said all that, I wasn't aware of any coverage of The Canaries, either Navteq or TeleAtlas? _________________ Darren Griffin |

SmartST V2 has no coverage, as far as I can tell. I couldn't find anything on Mapopolis's website for Lanzarote either, although they have maps for Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Hoever, SmartST V3 has some coverage on those two islands as well as Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. _________________ Tim |

I used Smart STv2 whilst in Tenerife last May and although the mapping was a bit sparse around the Las Americas area it was definitely usable and was a boon driving through the Teide National Park areas.
Can't wait to try out v3 maps when I visit again next April. _________________ Ian.
