I'm not going to be able to get my hands on the Lidl deal so I have settled on a package of Mio 168 + TT3 + Speedcam Software +256Mb SD Card + set-up + delivery for an all-in price of £357.98. More than the Lidl deal but I think that I will be happier with the proven TT3 software.

So that's the car navigation side of things sorted out. Now I'd like to request help on investigating other capabilities of my new 'gadget'.

Can someone please advise me how I can use it 'out-of-car' What I'd like to do is something like use (download?) a local OS map of my area and use it for walking. What software do I need?

Any help and advice will be really appreciated. Please keep it simple I'm a newbie at this.

You need the MemoryMap CDs which you can load onto the PC, then choose any part of the OS map to download onto the PPC. I suggest you get at least a 512Mb card.
As you walk or drive around you will see your exact position and track on the OS maps.
