Speed Accuracy

Any comments on the speed accuracy of readout on GPS. My iPAQ1940/Leadtek9537 based setup records a speed of about 8MPH slower than my Speedo accross the range from 20MPH to 70MPH.
Whilst this helps with speed cameras, I am concerned at the difference.
