|
|
Hi,
I'm looking for recommendations for PDA based GPS software which has good coverage of western Europe (especially the UK) and the USA. I frequently travel on business inside the UK and Europe, and also go to the US a few times a year on both business and holiday.
I've been poking around the reviews and would personally prefer a system with NavTeq maps, but its been difficult for me to find one with good reviews which allows you to upgrade/download/legally obtain maps for the region that didn't come with the base software.
Thanks |

It's an often asked question, TomTom are alone in offering US Maps for purchase.
I wouldn't get too hung up on the Navteq/TeleAtlas map data debate though. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'd forgot about Mapopolis Whilst I wouldn't like to have Mapopolis as my primary solution for daily use in the UK it's a perefectly usable and cheap solution for visits to the US. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'm sure there are others, too, though maybe not using NAVTEQ. I have Navman SmartST V2 maps for both Europe and the US, but with V3 being imminent I wouldn't recommend buying V2 at this time. _________________ Tim |

Are the SmartST Maps for US available as a software only package in the UK? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Oh yes. Items 3 and 4 on this page, for instance. _________________ Tim |
