I've not been having any problems - was using my system in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire this morning. There were up to ten satellites in my positioning solution at times.

It may be that you didn't stay in one place for long enough to get that first fix - it's very hard to get a first fix when you're moving.

This may be a daft question but,

Have you checked your Bluetooth manager? I frequently start my Ipaq 2210 and BT only to find the link drops out and I have to manualy restart the BT link.

Many thanks for your reply. In fact I had teh opportunity to check today with my friend GPS system (Asus BT and Holux BT), he had no problem at all to get 7 sats.

At the same time mine (TT BT) did get any fix. The led keeps blue and my PDA (HP Hx 4700) regognise very well the TT GPS. I do also can see those bars shaded in TT GPS driver (about 6-7-8) it depends.

To answer your question regarding BT manager, it looks like there no prob too. Both devises are connected correctly. Regarding getting the fix while moving, I tried it without any move for hours, but no green led light to indicate fix, only shaded bars on TT Nav. driver.

Your help is very highly appreciated

Samali, no there were no problems with Satellites unless they all decided to fall out of the sky at the same point in time.

Check closer to home. If you had grey bars, then it's because you couldn't pick up the correct signal from the satellites. You were either driving (which adversely affects the obtaining a fix), close to an electrical field, blocked by trees or tall buildings, or for some reaso your almanac corrupted in the GPS and it was having to re-download the complete almanac (takes around 12.5 mins) if it works first time round (called a factory fix).

Thank you Dave for the clear reply and reach information. I think it was due to Almanac related problem. In fact I solved this prob by emptying compltely the GPS battery (I mean verifying that there is no more power contained in) and recgharged it for about 4 hours. The resulet is fanatastic, I get the FIX as before, in cold = 1min, hot 15-sec.

I am glad to find the solution.

Any way many thanks to you and to the team.
