|
|
NEWB here, great site with lotsa good info available. I'll be picking up a Garmin Quest shortly for use in my car and motorycle and was wondering with Quest's limited memory (115MB) if I could store maps on the Palm M505 and load them up to the Quest - is a cable available that would allow me to transfer maps from the Palm to the Quest? My GF has a M505 that she rarely uses so I thought I'd make use of it if this is possible. I think the M505 has 8MB internal memory but has a slot for expandable SD/MMC memory. Any thoughts or comments are welcome. |

I don't think so; I don't have a Quest but AFAIK the only way you can get maps onto a Garmin device is by using Garmin's own software (Mapsource or whatever) on a PC.
You may be able to somehow connect the Quest to the Palm and exchange tracks, routes and waypoints, but I think you're out of luck when it comes to maps.

That's actually what I wanted to - load City Select maps on the M505 then transfer them to the Quest when needed. I was wondering if that was possible, can anyone confirm whether this is possible? |

I'm 99% sure it's not, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong!

I'm in agreement; unless I'm very mistaken, Mapsource is not available for any PDA, let alone a rather old Palm like an m505.
