i have down loaded niels thomsen uk postcode followed all steps and can acess it on my hp ipaq 1710 through the start menu but when i put in postcode then navigate to or show on map it activates tom tom but it doesnt go to anything please help!!!! wot am i doing wrong?

If you have an iPAQ rx1710, then it's possible you're using the HP Navigation Pack.

This uses a TomTom NavCore based program, not TomTom Navigator 3. This software doesn't work with the TomTom Navigator SDK, so external software that uses the SDK like UK Postcode doesn't work.

thanks david your right it does use the hp navigation software! is there any other way of getting my unit to take full postcodes?

Not that I know of. Whilst it can be a little more tedious, you should get good results using city, street and number in most if not all cases. Further, I believe you have more up to date maps than those shipped with TomTom Navigator 3.
