Can anyone tell me what the best setting are for gps on a royaltec rbt1000 and tomtom3 SiRF or NMEA and what the difference is? Also what does SBAS do? Thanks

The best setting is NMEA at 38400

NMEA is text encoded (you can read the stream), SiRF is binary.

SBAS is satellite based augmentation system - geostationary satellites that improve the accuracy of the GPS signal. In Europe it's called EGNOS, and it's still not live 8O

Thanks for that....
One more question though is there anyway of TomTom anouncing the speed limits for the road you are traveling or Overspead? I have CeckPoint which someone told me would do it but i can't get it to work. Do you know of any software?

None of the programs can do that. Some can give you a generic warning over a preset speed, others can show the speed range of a street segment but cannot warn about it.

What you are looking for is something different - the anouncement of speed camera locations. For that to work you need to load the appropriate POIs to your Pocket PC.
